The #1 Hanover Wild (3-0-0) took down the #5 Plymouth Predators (1-1-1) 3-2 in a great semifinal matchup.
The Wild came out flying, scoring two goals early in the first. Nathan St. Pierre got the scoring started, dangling his way past two Predator defensemen before finishing the play on his backhand. Teddy Lyons received an assist on the play. The second Wild goal came just under a minute later when Gregor Vogel fired a shot from the wall after Will Fichman made another huge defensive play, crushing a Predator forward into the wall.
The Wild gained a 3-0 lead in the 2nd when Vogel took the puck behind the net before stepping out from behind the goalline and firing a shot upstairs. Jake Reznek drew three penalties in the game, working hard and moving his feet all game long. Jackson Kapuscinski came up with a classic toe save in the 2nd period on a breakaway, the Predator forward making a great move but Kapuscinki got his leg across the goalline to make the save.
With the win the Wild advance into the state championship game where they will faceoff against their cross-town rival #2 Upper Valley Storm (2-0-1).
