Gregor Vogel was named the Captain of the Wild. Though the coaches had no idea what he looked like until two weeks into the season, they were not disappointed when he stepped on the ice. Vogel has thrived in his leadership role, proving to be a great choice as Captain.

Vogel is one of the best skaters and goal scorers on the team. His speed and strength make him nearly unstoppable when he has the puck. When he drives the net and beats defenseman wide he creates countless scoring opportunities for his line. His ability to take advice from coaches and immediately put the suggestions into his games is commendable.

Vogel is a great utility player for the Wild, jumping back on defense when asked. He isn't afraid to take the body and do the dirty work in the corners. He is constantly cheering his teammates on and encouraging them to pick up their play. He has great patience with the puck and always finds the open player in best position to make a play.

The coaches hope to improve Vogel's hockey sense and ability to play away from the puck. If he continues on this path, Vogel will make a great player at the next level.
