Quinn Murnaghan is as laid back as it gets for the Wild. He is always calm and composed no matter what the situation. Murnaghan is happy to play any position and has done so on many occasions. However, he has proven to be a solid defenseman for the Wild.
His shot from the point has an uncanny ability of finding the back of the net. He may not have the hardest shot on the team, but he knows where and when to shoot. What's better? His shots rarely get blocked, a trait that any coach loves to see from a defenseman who likes to shoot the puck.
Murnaghan has a solid poke check when he can keep his feet moving. He is one of the hardest working players on the team when it comes to back-checking and he isn't afraid to admit when he made a mistake. Murnaghan does a great job clearing pucks out of the front of the net to deny secondary scoring chances for opposing teams.
The coaches hope to improve Murnaghan's skating ability this season, noting he could be a great defenseman in high school if he could get some more power in his forward and backward skating.
