The Hanover Wild (15-6-0, 11-1-0 NHAHA) fell to the Cardigan Cougars (2-4-0) in another Wednesday night matchup at Turner Arena.

The Wild were already short a player as Ben Ives has been placed on injured reserve for at least two weeks, but with the absence of Nathan St. Pierre the Wild just didn't have the fire power to beat a full Cougar bench.

The Wild found themselves down 1-0 early before Gregor Vogel buried a shorthanded goal from Carter Auch to even up the score halfway through the 1st period. The Wild would head into the 2nd period down 2-1 after giving up a goal just minutes after tying the game.

The Wild evened up the score once again on a goal from Archer Judd, the assists going to Vogel and Jake Reznek. Once again the Wild were unable to maintain pressure after scoring a goal and gave up two quick goals to the Cougars to find themselves down 4-2. The Cougars capped off the 2nd period with another goal to head into the 3rd with a 5-2 lead.

The Wild scored early in the 3rd on a goal from Vogel with assists going to Auch and Will Brannen. The trend continued for the Wild as just minutes later the Cougars scored to regain their three goal lead. The Wild capitalized on the powerplay on a goal from Brannen with assists going to Judd and Auch.

The Wild look ahead to league action this weekend as they take on the strong Henniker Huskies (7-4-3 NHAHA) at Campion Rink on Saturday.
