The Hanover Wild (14-5-0, 11-1-0 NHAHA) fell to the Upper Valley Storm (6-2-1 NHAHA) 4-1 at Barwood Arena.

The Wild were looking to avenge their embarrassing 8-3 loss to their cross-town rivals at Barwood Arena, but a slow start to the 3rd period was all the Storm would need to run away with the game.

The 1st period was all Wild as they outshot the Storm 9-3, getting a goal from Nate St. Pierre at the midway point of the period with an assist going to Will Brannen. The 2nd period was more of the same, the Wild outshooting the Storm 7-2 in the period but were stopped by a great performance from a young Storm goaltender.

Jackson Kapuscinski made the save of the year to keep the score at 1-0 after a Storm player broke loose on a breakaway and made a great head fake, but Kapuscinski made a desperation save with his toe to keep the puck out of the net. Tom Lyons played another great game for the Wild, putting forth tremendous effort and energy from start-to-finish.

The 3rd period was a disappointing one for the Wild, letting their foot off the gas and allowing an onslaught of Storm pressure to lead to three unanswered goals. With the goalie pulled the Wild put on some heavy pressure, but it was too little too late and the Storm capped off the scoring with an empty netter to head home with a 4-1 win.

"There are a lot of positives to take from this game." Dodds said after the game. "Their goalie played well, you have to give him credit to step into a game with older players and to steal a win for his team. With that said, there was a lot of negativity between the players at the start of the 3rd. They were putting more energy into pointing fingers at each other than they were putting into their play and it showed."

The Wild hope to get back in the win column with another scrimmage at Turner Arena as they take on the Cardigan Cougars (1-3-0).
